Fools’ Flotilla welcomed floats, boats, and fun to the Yahara River

River Alliance of Wisconsin once again welcomed boaters to the Yahara River in Madison for the  Fools’ Flotilla on June 12. The event was part of the annual Marquette Neighborhood Association’s Waterfront Festival. The floating parade included live music by local musicians performing as the River Rats and creative costumes and floats.

River Alliance staff and volunteers“River Alliance of Wisconsin hosts the event to ensure a safe and fun experience for people to celebrate one of Wisconsin’s beloved urban rivers,” said River Alliance Executive Director Allison Werner. “By welcoming our Madison neighbors to participate, we hope more people will discover the value of this gem of recreation in our city.”

The event was covered by the media including television stories on WISC-TV CBS 3 and WKOW-TV ABC 27 as well as making the front page of the Wisconsin State Journal.
