In this collection of films, you’ll hear the stories of an immigrant to America who finds freedom in a trout stream, and veterans who find healing by casting a fishing line, Indigenous food sovereignty activists who grew vegetables to feed their families and organized to remove a dam, and Black sanitation equity advocates who explain why their neighborhoods need infrastructure investments. You’ll also meet a California activist who put his life on the line, Wisconsin farmers who go against the grain to farm with nature rather than against it, and youth speaking out for a Green New Deal.

“Madison-area supporters of River Alliance of Wisconsin have gathered together for many years to be inspired by the Wild & Scenic Film Festival,” said River Alliance of Wisconsin Executive Director Allison Werner. “The film shorts can be funny or deeply moving, but we hope they will all inspire us to find new ways to be advocates for our clean water resources and think broadly about what the conservation movement looks like.”
